A rear tender deck view shows another aspect of the antenna related detail, the actual antenna. On tenders so equipped there was a unique hatch arrangement required to allow access to the internal area of the water compartment between the side baffles, this was the purpose of the small center hatch. Notice the locking mechanism on the center hatch that kept it from blowing open under the pressure of scooping water at speed, this lock actually functions on our model. The rear marker lights have also been moved off of the rear deck on to special brackets mounted directly to the rear tender tank sheet.
