This view highlights the detail of the sand dome. Notice all of the 'little' things included in the detail; the rivets around the water trap ring where the sand hatch sits, the small vent line, the extremely small rivet detail for the backing plates under the side hand holds. Of course the sand traps and control air lines are modeled. The only way to include all of the detail that you see was to develop a very sophisticated casting for the basic structure of the dome. The boiler bands that you see in the photo are individually applied in all of the correct locations. One last item, notice the rivet and seam detail on the top center line of the boiler.
