A comparison of the two basic end styles, the 'late' on the left and the 'early' on the right. Note that the 'late' style has three (3) stiffening ribs on the carbody end versus only one (1) on the 'early'. The later G22b's also used a rotary uncoupling device on the coupler mechanism while the 'early' used the very common lift-bar style of mechanism. As is the case with all of our rolling stock, ourG22b's are equipped with scale operating brass couplers.
